The talented French startups behind #ReviensLeon

A new trend has just been launched in France today with the hashtag #ReviensLeon, this action aims to bring back French talents into the hexagone. The project is leaded by 10 innovative french startups operating worldwide who are looking to recruit talented french developers and marketers… The baseline “Reviens Leon, on innove à la maison” (Come back Leon, we innovate at home) demonstrates how French companies are now putting innovation back at the heart of their strategy and we decided to present who are the most promising start-up behind #ReviensLeon. This new initiative arrives few time after the French government launched the “French Tech Ticket”, a programme intended to attract talent and start-up entrepreneurs from around the world.

Blablacar, is the first one of them, it is a marketplace for city-to-city ridesharinglaunched in 2006. They count today 20 million members around the world. The company operates in nineteen countries across Europe, Russia, Turkey, Mexico and India. The site and free mobile apps provide a range of features to create a secure, trust-based community and easy connections between drivers and passengers. Blablacar is seen as one of Europe’s leading technology start-ups!

Showroomprivee.com is a Paris-based online shopping website for clothes, cosmetics and household items that offers discounts of 30–70% off of leading brand-name products. The company is the second largest private sales website behind Vente-privee. Showroomprivee is one of the leading e-commerce companies in Europe and has just raised 60 millions euros to develop its international activities (the company is today worth 600 millions euros).

The Paris based performance marketing platform Criteo which floated on the NASDAQ in October 2013, is also behind the project. Criteo helps advertisers generate more sales through personalized performance advertising at a global scale. The company has 1,500+ employees in 23 offices across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific, serving 7,800+ advertisers worldwide with direct relationships with 10,000+ publishers.

Capitaine train is another innovative start-up behind the #ReviensLeon project, the company is a Rail booking startup which claims being the number one independent distributor of train tickets in Europe!

The other start-ups supporting #ReviensLeon are iAdvize (a real-time customer engagement platform), Drivy (a peer-to-peer car rental platform in France),LaFourchette – TheFork (online restaurant bookerSigfox (operates a cellular network dedicated to low-throughput communication for connected objects and hast just raised $115 million), Dataiku (a Data Science software tool for developers and analysts) and Chauffeur-Privé (private car service (cab)).
